Bison Jerky

Bison meat is naturally flavorful and healthy, in fact if you didn't know, you would think you were eating the most flavorful Beef steak or burger you have ever had.

It's hard to believe, but Bison has less fat than Turkey and even Chicken with the skin removed. Bison are handled very little; this enhances the quality of the meat. They spend their lives grazing on natural grasses (just as they always have). There are never Antibiotics, Steroids or Growth Hormones used in the Bison industry.

There has never been an allergic reaction to Bison meat because of the natural way the animals are handled and fed. People who can not eat other red meat normally have no problem with Bison meat. Why not try for yourself and begin realizing the fantastic benefits of Bison for yourself.

American Bison were the Plains Indians primary food source and once numbered in the tens of millions. Indiscriminate slaughter and market hunting rendered the American Bison nearly extinct by 1900. There were only 13 live American Bison left, all in the Yellowstone Park area. Today there are over 300,000 buffalo with about 280,000 being raised on private ranches.

Bison meat has a rich, beef-like taste. Being lower in cholesterol and calories yet higher in iron and protein makes bison a perfect beef substitute for the health-conscious, or those on restricted red meat diets. In fact, bison has less cholesterol than chicken with the skin removed or even fish!

So why would you wait to try Bison Jerky? It’s healthy, and we hope it will be around forever, but it might not. You should take advantage of the great tasting—and yes, healthy American Bison! Remember that Bison isn’t incredibly abundant in other countries—if at all. The next time you take a trip some where; why not pack some healthy, long lasting, flavorful bison jerky? If you still aren’t convinced, consider this:

Important differences when compared to beef include:
1. 70% to 90% less fat (depending upon the cut of the meat.)
2. An average if 50% less cholesterol.
3. 30% higher in protein and fewer calories.
4. No growth-inducing hormones or steroids.
5. No known human allergies.
6. Higher in Iron (great for Women)
7. No Problems with E-Coli in Bison

Number one mentions “depending on the cut of the meat”—here’s more good news. Most Bison Jerky is made from 90% lean trim: no fat or other by-products are ever added like in other store bought beef or turkey jerky.

If you are not overly concerned about your weight, just eat Bison jerky because it’s better for you. Why would you eat beef jerky ever again if not only Bison Jerky tastes better, but is better for you as well?
